Dr. Susan J. Slavik, professor of Visual Arts at Coastal Carolina University and the 2005 South Carolina Art Education Association Higher Education Art Educator of the Year will direct a challenging and inspiring program for middle and high school students, taught by CCU faculty, professional artists, and exceptional educators.

Students will learn to think "outside the box" as they develop advanced skills in visual communication, portfolio development, and the manipulation of two and three-dimensional media.

Visual Arts classes will include dynamic offerings in drawing, portraiture, painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and graphic design. Special events will include group projects, museum field trips, sand sculpture, and art Olympics.

A culminating exhibit of student art works will be held in the Rebecca Randall Bryant Art Gallery in the Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts.
